Another weekend is approaching, which means the question of what to watch is rearing its ugly head again. Every weekend I review Netflix’s Top 10 to highlight the best ones so you don’t waste your movie night on more crap.
I’ve picked three essential movies from Netflix’s current top 10 that are absolutely worth your time. I completely lost my cool this weekend because my movie White Chicks knocked Enola Holmes 3 off the top spot, so I had to give it a shout out. Also on Netflix’s trending chart are the critically acclaimed western starring the best counselor in Holes and David Fincher’s twisty thriller that set the bar for the genre.
If you want to know what other films have caught the attention of Netflix subscribers, the full and up-to-date rankings of films on the platform are detailed below. Netflix had 17 No. 1 movies this year, and our streaming team picked just 5 that are worth watching.
This article is based on Netflix’s top 10 movies in the US as of Saturday, July 11, 2026.
Best Movies in Netflix’s Top 10
“White Chicks”
The fact that White Chicks overtook Enola Holmes 3 in Netflix’s top 10 is baffling to me right now. My friends and I were just talking about how White Chicks is a dumb comedy that we will always support like the original Scary Movie compared to all the others. Note: I have no comments on the new Scary Movie other than I Love Boosters made it better. (Although “Maybe weed must be illegal…” – outstanding quote.)
Directed by the hands down best Wayans brother, White Chicks stars his brothers Shawn and Marlon as FBI agents Marcus and Kevin Copeland who are *that* close to losing their jobs. Given one last chance, they agree to go undercover to accompany sisters Brittany and Tiffany Wilson to the Hamptons for the weekend. I mean deep undercover – like Get Out in reverse, so to speak.

“Old Henry”
I’ll admit, I haven’t seen Old Henry, but it’s 91% of viewers on Rotten Tomatoes and star Tim Blake Nelson aka That the best counselor in Holes – made me seriously consider watching a Western, which is rare. Nelson plays farmer and widower Henry (Tim Blake Nelson), who, along with his son Wyatt (Gavin Lewis), takes in a wounded man with a bag full of money named Curry (Scott Hayes).
When a posse of men led by lawman Ketchum comes looking for Curry (and the loot he was carrying), Henry must decide who to trust. When his homestead is caught in the crossfire, Henry discovers that he is much better with a firearm than people might suspect…

“Gone Girl” (2014)
If you’re looking for a more modern thriller, check out Gone Girl, director David Fincher’s hit adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s 2012 best-selling novel. It’s hard to think of a modern thriller that has had a greater impact than Gone Girl, which is honestly a high score that other thrillers can measure up to.
On their fifth wedding anniversary, Nick Dunne (Ben Affleck) comes home to find his wife Amy (Rosamund Pike) missing. As the search begins, it turns into a viral media circus. However, public sympathy turns to suspicion when things go wrong. enough step into Nick’s story…
