What was supposed to be the start of Premier Tim Houston’s appearance at the Nova Scotia Chambers of Commerce ended with him requiring a police escort.
On Wednesday, Houston was in Wolfville, North Carolina, where he spoke to the Annapolis Valley Chamber of Commerce at Acadia University, talking about his vision for the province’s economy.
When Houston first arrived at the university, about 50 peaceful protesters stood outside, mostly trying to draw attention to concerns about the potential closure of libraries in the Annapolis Valley.
However, throughout Houston’s performance, the crowd outside became increasingly louder, with more people protesting over a variety of issues.
