This transfer has been discussed for several days and has just been officially announced by the two clubs: Gonçalo Ramos is leaving PSG after three seasons to join Milan. With a sum estimated at 74 million euros on a fixed basis, which could reach 90 million with bonuses included, the Lombard club breaks its transfer record. The 25-year-old footballer signed a contract until June 2031 with the Lombard club.
Ramos, who is currently playing for Portugal at the 2026 World Cup, will play under his compatriot Ruben Amorim, Milan’s new coach. Arriving in Paris in August 2023 from Benfica, Ramos won three French league titles, two domestic cups and, most notably, two Champions Leagues with PSG.
45 goals and 10 assists in three seasons
But he never managed to establish himself as a regular in Spanish coach Luis Enrique’s side, playing in the shadow of Kylian Mbappe and then Ousmane Dembele. A pure center forward by profession with a profile that does not correspond to the playing philosophy of the Spanish coach, he did not start a single Champions League match for PSG last season.
However, his performances were often successful, scoring 45 goals and 10 assists over three seasons and 131 appearances in all competitions. In the press release announcing his transfer, PSG stressed that Ramos would be available for the 2024-2025 season.an important player in the club’s historic run in the Champions League, notably scoring in a wild display against Manchester City at the league stage (4–2 win), contributing to a campaign that ended with Paris Saint-Germain’s first crowning in the competition.“.
It was the same last season: it was he who equalized the score at the very end of normal time in the UEFA Super Cup against Tottenham (2-2, win on penalties 4-3). Last October, the centre-forward gave PSG a significant 90th-minute winner in a 2-1 Champions League win against Barcelona. The same thing happened during the Champions Cup last January against Marseille: he equalized in stoppage time (90+5) before PSG won on penalties (2-2, 4-1).
