Kasaragod ∙ Following a warning of heavy rainfall, the district collectors have declared a holiday for educational institutions in Kasaragod and Kannur districts tomorrow. The holiday will be extended to institutions including professional colleges.

The celebration followed the General Meteorological Office’s forecast that the area would be on an orange alert tomorrow. The festival will cover all educational institutions including professional colleges, schools, kindergartens, central schools, CBSE and ICSE schools, training centers and madrassas. There will be no changes to pre-scheduled tests and interviews.

The District Collector said that since the Central Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for three consecutive days in Kannur district and there is a possibility of heavy rain, all educational institutions, including a vocational college in the district, have declared a holiday tomorrow. The celebration will apply to all educational institutions including professional colleges, schools, Anganwadis, training centres, ICSE and CBSE schools, Kendriya Vidyalayas and religious educational institutions including Madrassas. The holiday does not apply to boarding schools. Early university and state examinations and interviews will remain unchanged.
