Flyers offer five-year, $90 million deal for Ducks' Leo Karlsson

The Flyers have offered a five-year, $90 million deal to Ducks star Leo Karlsson, the team announced Friday.

If the Ducks decide not to play, they will receive four first-round picks from the Flyers as compensation. Anaheim has seven days to decide whether it will play the match.

Karlsson, 22, is coming off a standout season in which he scored 29 goals and 67 points to help the Anaheim Ducks return to the playoffs for the first time in eight years. He added 11 points in 12 playoff games as the Ducks advanced to the second round.

The Ducks selected Karlsson second overall in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. He was selected to play for Sweden at the Winter Olympics, but missed the tournament due to injury.

In the second offer to come in in just a few days, the New Jersey Devils are looking to sign Utah Mammoth forward Barrett Hayton, offering a one-year deal worth $4.775 million.
