Nuremberg – BILD predicted a few months ago that… 1. FC Nurnberg in the summer, most likely, will lose all of its regular defenders. With the transfer of central defender Luka Lokhoshvili (28 for just under 5 million against 1. Cologne), the last of the back four players left the Franconians on Thursday.

Of course, coach Miroslav Klose (48) does not like the fact that FCN has to start practically from scratch, at least in defense. Klose: “Now the back four is well rehearsed and now we have to start again. I knew it would be difficult to retain the players. That’s how things are now. The transfer window is still open for two months, so we still have plenty of time to react.”
“Know the strengths and weaknesses of new products!”
It is even more important that several new top players have entered the field since the start of training. Klose: “The new ones arrived earlier than last year, and that’s better. And that’s why it’s important to work now. But I know it won’t happen overnight.”
The fact that Nuremberg not only lost a lot of quality with Henry Kudossou (26/Bielefeld), Fabio Gruber (23/to Mainz), Berkay Yilmaz (21/return to Freiburg) and most recently with Lokhoshvili, but also gained a lot of quality with previous defensive newcomers Alexios Kalogeropoulos (21), Finn Otto (24) and Giannis Masouras. (24) Nuremberg’s combat coach changes: “I know exactly the strengths and weaknesses of the new defenders. But I always like to be the person who wants to look at it first before I start working. And I believe that in two years with my coaching team we have already shown what we can achieve and how we can help players progress.”
By the way, another pillar of the defense is under threat: goalkeeper Jan Reichert (25). Club boss Jyoti Hatzialeksiou (50) also recently left his future open: “At the end of the day, we will have to see how we get it together. Whether we renew Ian’s contract – or not.”
