Latest EPFO updates: Employees Provident Fund subscribers have been waiting for a long time for interest to be credited. Their wait is coming to an end. The interest rate fixed for fiscal year 2026 will be credited until July 15, 2026. This time, the EPFO has fixed the interest rate at 8.25 percent. According to a Clear Tax report, the Employees’ Provident Fund interest rate is 0.688 percent every month.
How is EPFO interest rate calculated?
All investments made during fiscal year 2026 receive a fixed interest rate. Keep in mind that under the old tax system, interest earned on EPF up to Rs 1.5 lakh remains tax-free at 80C.
The minister announced the date
Union Labor and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said on July 8 that the EPFO has started the process of crediting fixed interest for FY 2026 in the accounts of 34 crore members. According to him, subscribers will be able to check their interest until the 15th of next week. Let us tell you, this time the interest including all subscribers will be more than Rs 1.4 million.
The EPF interest rate will be processed automatically. Verification will be carried out by the authorities before the loan is issued. The data will start appearing in the passbook by July 15, 2026.
How to Check Your Account (EPF Balance Checking Process)
Subscribers first go to the official ETF website.
The “View” tab will appear at the top, click on it.
After that, select the passbook.
Login to your passbook portal using UAN and password.
Your member IDs will then begin to appear. Now click on “View Passbook”. Now you can see your complete transaction history. Now click “Download PDF” to save it.
Subscribers can also view their PF passbook by visiting the Umang app.
