Karlsruhe – A DB Security employee was seriously injured on Friday night after falling from a moving train during a fight. This was reported in a joint press release from the prosecutor’s office and the Karlsruhe police department.
According to the current state of the investigation, ticket inspectors checked a passenger (36 years old) on the Offenburg-Karlsruhe railway line at around 19:35. While checking tickets, the German and the inspectors quarreled, which is why they called two colleagues. Ban-Security has been notified.
It’s still unclear why the door opened
The allegedly drunk 36-year-old man then insulted the railway workers. A physical altercation then occurred between the passenger and the DB security officer (26). During the fight, both participants fell to the ground. The door of a moving train opened and a 26-year-old man fell from the train near Ettlingen-Bruchhausen (Baden-Württemberg).
The police officers were called and temporarily detained the accused on the train. Other officers searched for the guard and found him about two kilometers away. A 26-year-old man lay on the track with life-threatening injuries. Doctors took him to the hospital. It is still unclear why the door opened. The Karlsruhe Police Department is investigating and the train is confiscated.
Recently, the case of train driver Serkan Chalar, who was beaten to death, caused national resonance. On February 2, 36-year-old Ioanni V. (26) wanted to check out the regional express from Kaiserslautern to Homburg. The Greek did not have a ticket, he freaked out and hit the train worker several times. In July, V. received 10 years in prison – not enough for the surviving victim. They boycotted the verdict. Ioanni V. was found guilty of causing bodily harm resulting in death; his relatives wanted a conviction for murder.
