Jakub Kaminski, 24 years old, Polish striker, arrived in Portugal a few minutes ago to strengthen Benfica.
“I’m very happy to be here. My expectations are very good and I am ready to start and show my qualities (in the team). I hope everything goes well today for the signing of the contract,” he said as he left Cascais airport in Tires.
When asked what he knew about Benfica, the Polish footballer answered, smiling: “Everything.”
The Polish left winger will now have to undergo physical examinations and a medical examination in order to sign a contract until 2031.
Benfica pays Cologne a release clause of 20 million euros. Brighton were also interested but spoke to the German club first, with the Reds contacting the Poland international and convincing him.
Left-footed but right-footed, Kaminski will compete with Schjelderup, although he can play as a support striker or as a right winger.
Kaminsky will be the third reinforcement next season. Gabrielle Indio, 17, defender has been with the team since the start of pre-season but will not be officially introduced until she turns 18 on July 26. Clément Lenglet, 31, will replace Nicolas Otamendi in central defence. He began training on July 1.
