After all the difficult weeks spent with his sick wife, Crown Prince Haakon of Norway (52) took a short break. On June 25, the father of two spent a relaxing evening with friends at Oslo jazz bar Ekspedisjonshallen – right next to the royal palace.

According to the Norwegian portal Se og Hør, according to Dana Press, the group remained until 22:00. and listened to music together before Haakon drove home in a black BMW.

The restaurant where the men’s group spent the evening is part of the five-star Hotel Sommerro and is considered a popular meeting place for high society. At the restaurant, guests dine under an original wall fresco by artist Per Krogh, while jazz music creates the atmosphere.

According to Se og Khor, the crown prince was accompanied by police, but otherwise he was dressed far from flashy: dark trousers, a shirt, a sweater and sneakers – at first no one recognized him. Haakon chatted and laughed with his two companions, although many assumed he was still in the hospital next to his wife.

More recently, Haakon has significantly reduced his public engagements to be close to his wife Mette-Marit (52) – for example, in mid-June he canceled a reception for consuls at the castle at short notice. Following his wife’s surgery, the couple spoke of a “difficult time” and the court also announced a “longer rehabilitation and development phase” during which there would be no further updates.
