After he was granted bail and released from Tihar Jail in the Rs 9 crore debt case, the actor was given time to repay the loan but he continued to violate court orders. For those who are not aware, Rajpal Yadav is in a legal dispute with Madhav Gopal Agrawal, who represents M/s Murali Projects Pvt Ltd. According to the court’s verdict on Friday, Yadav received no relief and was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment.Explaining why the actor was sentenced to three months in jail, advocate Avneesh Sikka, representing Murli Projects Pvt Ltd, said as reported by ANI: “Today, the cases filed by Rajpal Yadav were adjourned for disposal of orders. According to the Delhi High Court decision, all 21 cases filed by Rajpal Yadav were dismissed and the order passed by the Sessions Court was upheld. The court sentenced him to prison for three months. he was also ordered to pay a fine of Rs 1.05 crore in each case. The 3 month prison sentence is to be served concurrently. Ms. Radha Rajpal Yadav was also one of the accused in each case. handed over to the court, coupled with the fact that on the very last day, Rajpal Yadav said: “I am ready to go to jail 5 times, but I will not pay a penny.” He has been given two months to either comply with the order or challenge the verdict in the Supreme Court.”For those unaware, earlier businessman Madhav Gopal Agrawal, who lent the actor Rs 5 crore for his 2012 directorial venture Atha Pata Laapata, said he agreed to the loan after Rajpal’s wife Radha sent him emotional messages asking for help. He stressed that the agreement clearly states that the payment will not be affected by the film’s box office performance, censor certification or any other obstacles. The actor, he said, also provided a personal guarantee. The businessman added that the transaction was purely a loan and not an investment, noting that investments usually do not involve personal guarantees or post-dated checks.Since then, Yadav has refused to return the money. Agarwal also said that early in the conflict, he visited the actor’s house and “cried like a child in front of him”, explaining that the funds he borrowed were themselves borrowed from others. He said he had repeatedly asked Rajpal to give a specific date so that a new agreement could be prepared.
