The Meteorological Department has already warned that some places in Delhi, Haryana and Punjab will experience sporadic rain between June 29 and July 1 and again on July 5. However, there is a possibility of a heat wave in parts of Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi during June 29-30.

It was raining heavily with strong winds in Delhi (NCR). At the same time, lightning flashed. As the weather changed, Delhi residents got relief from the humid heat and heat.

Monday morning turned out to be very hot for Delhi residents

Before this, like Sunday, Monday morning was also very hot for Delhi residents. The minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 31.1 degrees Celsius on Monday. This temperature was 3.2 degrees above normal. It was the second hottest morning recorded in June in the past two years. Earlier on June 14, 2024, the minimum temperature was recorded at 33.3 degrees Celsius.

The weather service predicted the maximum temperature for the day would be around 41 degrees Celsius. In the last 24 hours till 8:30 am on Monday, no rain was recorded in Safdarjung, Palam, Lodhi Road, Ridge and Ayanagar.

Orange alert in Mumbai, rain also in Patna and Ayodhya

On Monday, the IMD issued an orange alert for Mumbai warning of heavy to very heavy rain with thunder, lightning and strong wind over the next few days. Heavy rain, lightning and strong winds are possible at some places in Mumbai on Monday and Wednesday. This could be followed by very heavy rain in many areas on Thursday and Friday.

Apart from this, the rain also changed the mood of the weather in Patna in Bihar, Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh and Shimla.
