Munich – For the new season there is FC Bayern big ticket revolution! In particular, we are talking about home games at the Allianz Arena. In the 2026/27 season, the German record holders will completely switch access to digital tickets. This means: nothing works without a mobile phone anymore! Tickets can only be managed via smartphone using the “FC Bayern App” or “Allianz Arena App”.

As BILD has learned: The project, which has been in development for some time and was first announced by Bayern in a club statement on June 12, has caused confusion and dissatisfaction among some fans. That’s why the two-time winner has been debating in recent weeks whether the complete change should be delayed again. But now the final decision has been made: from now on, fans will no longer come to Bayern home matches without a mobile phone!

Entry to Bayern matches without a mobile phone is prohibited.

The change, which was already common practice at the 2024 European Championships at the Allianz Arena, will come into force in the team’s first preparatory home game under coach Vincent Kompany (40). For the Telekom Cup match on August 15 (15:30) against RB Leipzig, 60,000 tickets have already been sold. To do this, the tickets allocated by the double winner are automatically deposited into so-called wallets, a digital wallet, the club app or the arena app two weeks before the game. On match days, fans must hold their mobile phones near the turnstile sensors to enter, but the smartphone battery must not be drained.

Since the first major change for the 2021/22 season, fans have until now had the option of storing their ticket in the Digital Ticket Center (DTC) as a ‘mobile ticket’ and digitally in an external wallet on their smartphone, or printing it themselves as a ‘print@home ticket’. These features have now been removed.

What children and older people need to know now

What are children, elderly people and other people who do not (yet) have their own smartphone doing now? When asked by BILD, Bayern representatives replied that the old method still exists for people who do not have a smartphone or who are technically unable to use it. So no one was left behind. Fan clubs also still have the ability to forward tickets.

BILD has learned that there will be a slight exception after entering the stadium with a mobile phone ticket. In particular, children whose ticket is stored on the smartphone of their parents or accompanying persons, after providing the relevant evidence, receive paper tickets for entry and exit, so that they can, for example, buy food or drinks themselves at the kiosks and then return to their seats. The same will apply to older people and people with disabilities. However, at least one viewer in these groups must have cards on their mobile phone in one of the two applications.

Why are Bayern changing tickets?

The German champion wants to become even more efficient and make a greater contribution to sustainable development by saving paper and printer cartridges. The club also wants to effectively combat the black market and trade in counterfeit tickets and improve stadium security by accurately recording personal details.
