Collin Gosselin sent his mother a thinly veiled message weeks after announcing his upcoming memoir about growing up on reality TV.
Collin, 22, shared a New York Post headline about Kate, 51, on his Instagram Stories over the weekend, which read: “Kate Gosselin ‘Spirals’ Ahead of Estranged Son Collin’s Sensational Memoir: ‘She Knows It’s About to Hit a Fan.’
He blurred out his mother’s face and shared a comment from a follower that said, “What’s done in the dark always comes to light,” according to People magazine.

Kate, 51, is reportedly “pondering” what her estranged son might have to say in his memoir, In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood.

“Kate had no idea this book was in the works,” a source told the Daily Mail, before admitting that “Collin hasn’t spoken to his mother since she abandoned him in an orphanage when he was a small child.”
“She didn’t expect any of this to ever come out. Now it’s picking up steam because it knows it’s about to hit the fan.”
Collin grew up on television as cameras followed the Gosselins for years, first on Jon & Kate Plus 8 and then on Kate Plus 8 . (Donna Svenevik)
Jon & Kate Plus 8 aired on TLC from 2007 to 2009, when the former couple divorced. A year later, the show was renamed Kate Plus 8, which ran until 2017.

Collin was allegedly diagnosed with a behavioral disorder, and at age 12, Kate committed him to the Fairmount Behavioral Health System, a psychiatric hospital located in Philadelphia.
“I couldn’t meet his needs with my own resources,” Kate said in the episode “Kate Plus 8.” Meanwhile, “Kate Plus 8” continued to air with seven other children. John claimed that he did not know that Collin had been sent to a behavioral institute until one day he was having lunch with the children and Collin was absent.
At the time, Kate had full custody of the children and insisted that she did not have to tell her ex-husband where Collin was because of a court order.

Although Kate allegedly told People that Collin’s claims have “zero facts,” he reportedly has “evidence to back it all up.”
“Kate can’t stop this book from coming out, but I have no doubt she would like to,” the insider said.
Collin’s siblings – Aaden, Alexis, Hannah, Joel and Leah – and twin sisters Cara and Madeline were also reportedly taken aback by the memoir.

According to the source, the siblings allegedly “don’t really know the truth about what happened to him” other than what their mother said.

Representatives for Kate did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Earlier this month, Collin revealed that his revelation would come out in October and included a photo from his childhood of his mother covering his mouth with her hand.
“For a long time I wasn’t sure I would ever tell this story. When I was growing up, millions of people watched my life on TV,” he wrote.
