After weeks of searching for true love, both RTL Bachelors handed out their final rose. However, at the dating show’s big reunion, it was revealed that only one of the two men is still with his lady love – beware of spoilers!
In the final episode of The Bachelor, Tim Reitz chose 28-year-old Vivi from Weingarten as his wife. The 35-year-old from Cologne also told his finalist on the final night of roses that he had fallen in love with her.
“We’re just seeing each other for the first time in Germany”
The 16th season of the dating show seemed like a victory for big feelings and declarations of love. While Tim was able to let Vivi have butterflies in his stomach again after a long time, Sebastian even talked about a possible “soul mate” with Nadia.
At the final rose, both “Bachelors” not only asked their chosen ones the obligatory question about whether they want to accept her, but also the question about their joint relationship. Tim and Sebastian got the answer “yes” and left the show as an official couple, along with Vivi and Nadya. Unlike many of its predecessors, the current Bachelors have kept the futures of their finalists far from vague.
But when we met again with presenter Frauke Ludowig, whose recording always takes place a few months after the end of the actual filming, we were in for a big surprise: “We’re just seeing each other for the first time in Germany,” Sebastian answered when asked about the status of his relationship with Nadia.
Too good to be true?
“I’ll definitely end up in shit – in that case I don’t care,” Nadya said. After the last night of roses, Sebastian’s pace quickly became too much for her. She eventually realized he was “the wrong man” for her, the 28-year-old said. Ultimately, the breakup was her fault and she is now happily married again.
For Sebastian, this turn of events was a “slap in the face.” “I made myself vulnerable on the journey,” he said. As The Bachelor, he didn’t make the decision to cancel the actual show format easily. However, he wanted to take his feelings seriously and was very grateful that the show made it possible.
The season was able to give viewers a happy ending: Tim and Vivi announced that they were still a couple. After more than six months of a long-distance relationship, they also want to take the next step and move together to Tim’s chosen hometown of Cologne.
Love lost, but friend found
Since 2024, not one, but two men have been looking for a partner on the RTL dating show. Therefore, the show’s title was changed from the previous “Bachelor” to “Bachelorettes.”
However, neither the candidates nor the two Bachelors knew for sure before the show began that two Bachelors would be handing out roses again this year. However, the ice between the two Rhinelanders quickly broke at their first meeting.
During filming, they “learned to love each other,” Tim said. Both were very grateful for mutual discussions and advice during this time. It goes beyond the show: He’s “found a friend” in Tim, Sebastian said.
