Evolution
At the beginning of the weekthis heat intensifies and takes on a scorching character over a large part of the southwest. From Monday to Tuesday it will spread to the Loire Valley, west of the Massif Central, and then to the center of the country.
Within a weekThe heat wave will intensify and cover the entire country with maximum temperatures of 37 to 41°C and night temperatures of 20 to 25°C.
At this momentNo real drop in temperature is expected. The heat wave will last until approximately July 15th.
At the same time, increasing drought continues in many regions, increasing the risk of wildfires and fires affecting vegetation.
Air quality is also degraded by high ozone concentrations fueled by intense and prolonged heat.
