Before Keanu Reeves became everyone’s favorite action hero thanks to John Wick franchise, Liam Neeson dominated the stage after his performance in Taken as a former CIA officer turned father who uses his special set of skills to track down his kidnapped daughter. Released in 2008, the film was a huge success and Neeson was subsequently in high demand. As such, he’s starred in a slew of action films since the 2010s, including one 2018 gem that just got a new streaming home.

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (who would later helm the Netflix hit Continue), Suburban Neeson plays Michael McCauley, a former police officer who now works as an insurance salesman. Having unexpectedly lost his job just a few years before his retirement, he takes the evening train home as usual, worrying about how he is going to provide for his family.
Meeting a mysterious woman named Joanna (Vera Farmiga), she offers him an unusual offer: identify someone else’s passenger on the train and he will receive $100,000. Considering he’s just lost his job, Michael can’t refuse the offer, but he soon finds himself being manipulated by a powerful organization that has complete control of the train. Failure to comply will not only cost him his life, but could also cost the lives of innocent passengers.
Using his investigative skills, Michael tries to uncover the truth about what is happening in the intense action film. Full of hand-to-hand combat, explosive chases and a knockout ending. Suburban It may not be Neeson’s best work, but it’s definitely a non-stop thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat with its Hitchcock-esque mystery that keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the film.
Although it is available to stream on Paramount+, Suburban also hit free streaming this month, so you won’t have to pay anything other than a few ad breaks to watch it. The high-octane action thriller was added to Pluto TV on July 1 as part of a new monthly movie collection that also includes other great action films such as Top shooter, Walking highand all Consumables franchise.
The Commuter was a box office success despite poor reviews

Suburban also plays Farmiga’s demon-hunting partner in Witch UniversePatrick Wilson, as well as Florence Pugh in one of her early roles and the incomparable Sam Neill. Made for $30 million, the action movie grossed $119 million worldwide, making it a financial success despite all the bad reviews.
About rotten tomatoes Suburban has a critic rating of just 55%, with many calling it “throwaway”, “cliché” and “just another generic action movie”. That may be true, but it nonetheless provides 105 minutes of pure escapism, which is what many look for in films of this nature. It may not be an Oscar winner, but it is nonetheless a fun action movie that delivers on what it promises.
