Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay’s much-awaited film Jana Nayagan received an ‘A’ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) on Wednesday, sources told NDTV.
The edit list is expected to be uploaded on the CBFC website today or Monday and the final certificate is likely to be released next week.
Jana Nayagan is likely to receive the CBFC certificate next week and the film’s team is reportedly eyeing either July 24 or July 31 for the film’s release date.
“Yana Nayagan is likely to receive her censor certificate next week. It is expected to hit theaters later this month,” said a source familiar with the development.
The film completed its censor review late last year. A review panel reviewed the film in December 2025 and suggested that some scenes be cut; The production team said they accepted the instructions. After this, the film was scheduled to be released on January 9, 2026.
