BROSSARD — Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes announced Wednesday that the team has agreed to one-year, two-way contracts with forward Samuel Poulin and defenseman Ethan Samson.

Poulin played 71 AHL games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Bakersfield in 2025-26, recording 49 points (21G, 28A). The 25-year-old forward also played two games in the NHL with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

A native of Blainville, QC, Poulin has played 15 career NHL games and recorded two assists while also serving six penalty minutes. The forward was selected 21st overall in the first round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft by the Penguins.

Last season, Samson played 40 games for Lehigh Valley and Syracuse in the AHL, scoring five goals and adding 13 assists. The right-handed defenseman has 54 points (20G, 34A) in 172 career AHL games since his professional debut in 2023-24.

Samson, 22, was selected in the sixth round (174th overall) by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.
