Akanksha Chamola confirms divorce from Gaurav Khanna: ‘We’ve been living separately for one year’ | TV news

Akanksha Chamola made a startling discovery in the premiere episode of Netflix’s Indian series Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa. Akanksha shared that she and actor Anupamaa Gaurav Khanna divorced and said that the couple had been living separately for the last year.

Akanksha Chamola made this revelation on stage during the premiere episode of Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, hosted by Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh. Akanksha said, “Gaurav and I are getting divorced. Yes, we have separated and been living separately for the past year. It has not been made public. It was a mutual decision. We have been discussing it for the past year. Things are not bad between me and Gaurav. We still talk to each other. We both don’t think we are compatible as partners because we both see a completely different future and unfortunately it is not with each other.”

Akanksha said that she and Gaurav Khanna tried to save their marriage but eventually realized that they were no longer happy as a couple. “There is no animosity here. All this happened during the time when Gaurav was shooting for ‘Bigg Boss’. Our parents thought that if we lived away from each other, we could revive the situation, clear the air. Everyone thought it would happen as we were seen together in society, supporting each other at events and sharing everything on a daily basis, but we did not feel like a married couple. I think this will also be a big news for the families.”

While Gaurav Khanna has not commented on his divorce from Akanksha Chamola, during Bigg Boss 19, actor Anupamaa revealed how dearly he loves his wife. In fact, during an earlier conversation with SCREEN, when Gaurav was asked if the conversations around him about wanting children and Akanksha not wanting children would affect their relationship, the actor replied, “Not really. All my close friends and family are okay with it, I’ve been married to Akanksha for nine years now, so if I wanted to do something, I would have done it earlier. If things were to go south, they would have done it.”

“We have a relationship with such understanding and maturity that we are very open in our choices. I am a very proud husband. If my wife does not want children, of course I feel bad as a person, but as a husband, it is my right and responsibility to put my wife before myself. If you see this trait, 10 husbands can change and become like me, the world will be a better place,” Gaurav added.

After Akanksha Chamola confirmed the news of their divorce, we reached out to Gaurav Khanna for his comments. We have yet to hear back from the actor.

On the work front, Gaurav Khanna will next be seen in Khatron Ke Khiladi 15.
