Jaya’s mother Vidya Mundra said, โ€œMy son brought glory to Tonk and the whole of Rajasthan by taking a wicket from the first ball in his first match. He said it was a very emotional and proud moment for his family that was difficult to explain in words.

As soon as Jai Mundra, who plays for Ireland, received the wicket of Sanju Samson from the Indian cricket team, he celebrated the occasion with his team.

The second over of the innings was bowled by Ireland. Let us tell you that Jai bowled the second over of Ireland’s innings. He made a memorable start by taking the wicket of Sanju Samson on the first ball of his first over. He gave seven runs in this over. After this, the captain expressed confidence in him and handed him the fifth over, in which he bowled tightly and allowed only four runs.

Jai showed his prowess once again in the 16th over of the match. He took the wicket of explosive batsman Shivam Dubey on the last ball of the over. The special thing was that Jai brilliantly executed the catch of Dubey, catching him with his ball. He gave six runs in this over.

Even in the 18th over, Jai bowled impressively. However, Harshit Rana missed the catch of the last ball of the over, due to which his chance for the third wicket was lost. He made eight runs including a six in this over. Later, Harshit Rana was run out off the first ball of the next over.

Gained Irish citizenship by 2025 Jai, 28, went to Ireland in 2021 on a student visa to study M.Tech. During this time he worked there and in 2025 received Irish citizenship.

He was selected for the Irish cricket team for his aggressive bowling and excellent batting. His family, who live in Tonk, are very happy about this achievement.

In Ireland, he initially played for the famous Leinster Cricket Club from Dublin. Then in 2023 he was part of the team that won the Irish Senior Cup.

Left-arm fast bowler Jai Mundra was part of the Tonk and Rajasthan U-14 team during his school days in Tonk. Apart from this, he has also participated in many state level cricket competitions in Rajasthan. His entire family lives in the city of Tonk itself and owns an auto parts store.
