Firefighters from Hérault were mobilized in the early evening of Thursday, July 23, to extinguish a fire in a residential building in the Alco area of Montpellier. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the incident.
Firefighters from Hérault intervened this Thursday, July 23, at around 7 p.m., due to a rubbish fire on the ground floor of a four-story apartment building located in the Alco area, north of Montpellier.
Voluntary act?
According to the first findings of the investigation, the fireplace was located on the landing, directly in front of the stairs, and emitted a significant amount of smoke. Eight people were inconvenienced on the floors, including six who had to be evacuated to the hospital building for follow-up examinations.
An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of this fire, which appears to have been intentional.
