The mythological saga of Nitesh Tiwari Ramayanaled by Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash has grabbed attention for all the right reasons. From intriguing first looks to posters and comics, the creators are constantly releasing content to keep the hype going.
Last Saturday, the team held a grand promotional event in Delhi, ‘Bharat Mandapam’, which was attended by other actors including Sunny Deol, who will play Lord Hanuman, and Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha. The digital trailer will now be unveiled tomorrow at Ballroom 20 at San Diego Comic-Con in the US.
Here are five things to expect ahead of the big reveal:
1) High quality epic visuals and visual effects.
Ramayana world-class visual effects created by Oscar-winning studio DNEG – the team behind blockbusters such as Dune And Interstellar – have created a lot of buzz since the release of the first teaser of the film. Powerful visuals coupled with background score have always been a topic of discussion. From grand battlefields to lush forests, expect to be transported into the realm of one of the greatest epics of all time.
Highlights from Ramayana The teaser, which hints at what the trailer has to offer, features stunning cinematography and cutting-edge technology. Be it boat scenes or action montages of flying arrows and clashing armies, the traditional Indian mythological color palette helps ensure authentic cinematic storytelling.
Whether portraying a demonic monsters or other otherworldly creatures, the impressive CGI makes them feel real and keeps the audience hooked.
2) Superb cinematic experience
After the teaser, some viewers closely examined the computer graphics. However, leaked footage from the recent 3D trailer screening in Delhi suggests that the version is much more polished. With DNEG leading the charge in visual effects, Nitesh Tiwari’s film is a serious competitor to Hollywood’s big-budget spectacles in terms of technical scale and production value.

3) Outstanding Character Portrayals
The initial response to Ranbir Kapoor as Purushottama (Lord Rama) and Yash as the villain Ravana was positive. They say Yash makes a strong impression; The teaser showed him walking towards his chariot Pushpak Viman and it will be interesting to see what else the trailer reveals. Sita Sai Pallavi is expected to personify grace and devotion, while Lakshmana (Ravi Dubey) is seen as the loyal brother and sister who accompanies Rama into exile.

The comic, released at the Delhi event, has already teased other key cast members: Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari (Queen of Lanka and Ravan’s wife), Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha (Ravan’s sister) and Kunal Kapoor as Lord Indra. It will be intriguing to see how much of their storylines the trailer reveals.

4) Iconic mythological moments
Nitesh Tiwari Ramayana is one of the most anticipated adaptations of the ancient text. The film reportedly pays tribute to defining mythological moments: the union of Rama and Sita at Mithila, where Rama protects Sita’s hand by striking the Pinaka (Lord Shiva’s celestial bow); the emotional core of Rama, Lakshmana and Sita leaving Ayodhya for 14 years to fulfill King Dasaratha’s promise to Queen Kaikeyi; the tense kidnapping of Sita by Ravana; and the undying devotion of Lord Hanuman thereafter. These essential scenes are central to any adaptation and are worth watching in the trailer.
5) Emotional and spiritual resonance
Bye Ramayana Undoubtedly a mythological spectacle, Nitesh Tiwari’s direction promises a deeply human drama. Apart from the grandiose scenes, the emotional core is the vulnerability and grief within the royal family of Ayodhya – Rama’s tearful passing and the kingdom’s descent into darkness. The cast also establishes a spiritual connection, with Ranbir Kapoor’s calm, composed demeanor matching the righteousness of Lord Rama. Tiwari said he saw Rama in Ranbir’s eyes and Situ in Sai Pallavi’s eyes and the project reflects that vision. Reports indicate that pre-production for the film took around ten years, during which the team consulted pandits and studied ancient texts to root the narrative in conventional wisdom.
Needless to say, it’s been a long journey. The film is slated to release in two parts, the first part will be released on Diwali 2026 and the second part will be released on Diwali 2027. The trailer will be released tomorrow and the excitement is only going to grow.
