Everyone lies on their CV, it’s part of life, but it’s little things that you can usually get away with, like saying you’re going out for a drink when you haven’t left yet, or that you think Robbie Williams is talented. The problem, of course, comes when it hits you further down the line, and Paul Rudd knows this all too well.
What’s worse for Rudd is that his little falsification of his biography was accompanied by the additional specter of an unhinged Sir Ben Kingsley who, like anyone who’s ever seen him turn Ray Winstone into a quivering, sunburnt mess, sexy beast will know this is not a fun prospect at all.
This embellishment occurred early in Rudd’s career, long before he could rely on the fact that he had starred in Marvel films or such popular comedies as Friends.
