27-year-old Kurdistan citizen Rebaz Soleiman Saleh was killed after being fired upon by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) learned that on Friday, July 10, 2026, while Rebaz Soleyman Saleh and his brother were grazing their cattle in the border highlands of Khenire, located in the Sidekan district of Erbil, they were fired upon by IRGC forces stationed in the region, resulting in his death.
After the murder, IRGC forces stole his body and confiscated all of his siblings’ livestock. It was only after persistent action by his family that his body was returned on Sunday, July 12, 2026.
According to KHRN, over the past few weeks the IRGC has significantly increased its military presence in the border regions, from Piranshahr to Salas-e Babajani, deploying heavy weapons and imposing severe restrictions on movement in these areas.
