In Asian markets, South Korea’s KOSPI index jumped 4.40%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 Index, Shanghai’s SSE Composite Index and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index also closed higher. Markets in Europe were trading lower. US markets ended Wednesday in negative territory (July 22, 2026).
