Digital Desk, New Delhi. Social activist Anna Hazare wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday. He said the violence and police actions during the ongoing student protests in Delhi were extremely sad.

In a democracy, dialogue is always better than confrontation. If accountability is established and the minister’s resignation is submitted, the government will not lose power.
Rather, it will send a clear message to other ministers that if they do not properly discharge the responsibilities of their departments, they too will have to resign from their posts.
This will make government work more accountable and efficient. The letter comes amid demands from opposition parties, including the Tharakan Janata Party and the Congress, for the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
He said that in a democracy, violence, damage to public property and excessive use of force should be avoided at all costs.
Expressed concern about students’ problems
Hundreds of youth across the country are worried about issues such as document leaks, delays in the recruitment process and unemployment. These concerns should be seen not simply as a matter of law and order, but as public anger.
He also cited media reports that claimed that 22 students committed suicide due to disappointment and alleged irregularities in the results of the re-examinations.
Whenever irregularities or fraud are discovered, responsibility is often assigned only to lower-level officials, while the government takes credit for good results, he said. The real responsibility lies with those in high positions.
