There is always a lot of debate about which royal relative the children of the Prince and Princess of Wales are like. However, one photo taken last Christmas finally cleared up the confusion when it came to Princess Charlotte.
The young royal bore a striking resemblance to her late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, during her annual Christmas outing at Sandringham in Norfolk.

Charlotte joined her siblings George, 12, and Louis, eight, and other senior royals at morning Mass at St Mary Magdalene Church before greeting the public gathered in the church grounds.

For the special occasion, the young princess wore a two-tone double-breasted coat in beige and chocolate brown, dark brown tights and flats in the same rich color. The coat was custom-made by Catherine Walker and her shoes were Tory Burch crocodile-effect suede, according to the Royal Fashion Police’s then-Instagram page.
She pulled her long dark hair back away from her face and styled it half up and half down, securing it together with a brown velvet bow clip. Her look for the festive gathering was remarkably similar to that of her great-grandmother, who also attended Sandringham every year.
Strange resemblance
In the picture, dated 1936, the late Queen accompanies her sister, Princess Margaret, in a similar button-down coat and looks very much like a modern-day Charlotte.

However, on social media, fans were divided over the similarities between the royal relatives, with one saying: “So much like Elizabeth,” and another saying: “I don’t see any resemblance to Queen Elizabeth. She looks so much like Prince William.”
Another noted: “Princess Charlotte looks a lot like her father, Prince William,” while another added: “She looks more like Diana! She’s a beautiful girl!

Further family comparisons
The late monarch isn’t the only royal Charlotte has been compared to. The young girl was often praised for her behavior as an aspiring working member of the royal family and was compared to her great-aunt Princess Anne for her kindness towards members of the public.

Princess Anne and Princess Charlotte occupy remarkably similar positions in the royal hierarchy: both are second children, destined to be the King’s granddaughter, daughter and sister.
Since the title only belongs to one person for life, many suspect Charlotte will eventually become the next Princess Royal.
However, the connection goes beyond titles: Anne’s famous confidence and strict discipline are reflected in Charlotte. Known for her no-nonsense attitude, the young princess constantly keeps her brothers, Prince George and Prince Louis, in line during official events.
Even though she only has a handful of royal engagements under her belt, Charlotte always rises to the occasion – most famously when she reminded her brother George to bow at the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.
