Liam Neeson didn’t deal well with the police Taken franchise, and the action star returns as another tough fugitive trying to evade capture in the official trailer Mongoose, which Samuel Goldwyn Films released on Wednesday.

In his latest high-octane thriller, Neeson plays Ryan “Fang” Flanagan, a decorated Afghan war hero wrongly accused of a crime he didn’t commit involving his ex-wife’s current partner. Driving a flashy sports car from a variety of options, Neeson’s Flanagan leads the police in a televised cross-country car chase.

An army of Texas Highway Patrol vehicles, led by Michael Chiklis as Pope, their brutal and reckless superior, lead the pursuit of Flanagan, egged on by his ex-wife, played by Marisa Tomei, and Ving Rhames, his loyal assistant in Afghanistan, as well as jubilant, placard-waving supporters lining the highway.

“Captain Flanagan, you’re going to get a lot worse,” warns a determined Pope at one point in the trailer. “Sounds like a threat. Go ahead,” replies a defiant Flanagan, heading toward the Mongoose to continue evading capture and repeating his apparent POW experience in Afghanistan.

The combination of fast cars and furious action filled with spins, crashes and explosions was captured by director Mark Vanselow, Neeson’s longtime stunt double who also worked on the film. Taken franchise. Samuel Goldwyn Films, which will release Mongoose in theaters October 30, 2026, also collaborated with Neeson on the 2026 sci-fi comedy Cold storage.

Thompson Evans wrote the action film with funding from Code Entertainment and Jupiter Peak Productions, and produced by Al Corley, Bart Rosenblatt and Eugene Musso. Lisa Wilson, Craig Chapman, Steve Shapiro, Liz Whitney, Ken Whitney, Jonathan Dana and Rich Freeman share executive producing duties.

Mongoose was shot in Australia, which is also Afghanistan, Arkansas and Texas.
