Jude Bellingham did not take defeat to Argentina in the World Cup semi-final with sportsmanship after England squandered a 1-0 lead in the closing stages of the match. The Madrid midfielder, who had several clashes with Paredes over the 90 minutes, was devastated when the referee signaled the end of the match and reacted poorly to the Albiceleste players’ celebrations.
In some photographs taken from the stands of the Atlanta stadium, Bellingham is seen lonely and sad. At one point he confronts Valentin Barco and punches him in the back of the head. Otamendi immediately tries to calm the situation and separates Bellingham with a light push.
Bellingham continued to seek out Valentin Barco to ask for an explanation, but several England players, including Elliot Anderson, took England number 10 to prevent the situation from escalating.
