It was an ordinary Wednesday morning that turned into drama in the Bréquigny area of Rennes. On July 15, at about 10 a.m., emergency services were urgently called to 49 Haut-Chalet Square, a stone’s throw from the Henri-Freville metro station. At the scene, they found a woman lying on the ground with her fists tied after falling from the third floor. Samu took care of the seriously injured victim and rushed him to the University Hospital of Rennes.
Argument before the fall
This is a shock for the neighbors. “I leaned over the balcony and saw a woman lying on the ground,” says Giselle, 80, a neighbor. “We heard moaning, she was still conscious.” According to our information, shortly before the fall, a painter working on the first floor heard a loud argument.
“This is a couple who lived in this apartment for a year and a half,” admits another resident met at the scene. “They behaved very reservedly, I had never heard of a quarrel before,” testifies a resident of the house. A man works for a cleaning company in Saint-Malo. He maintained warm relations with his neighbors.
The comrade has been arrested.
Did she jump on her own or was she pushed? The first elements collected in the apartment provide evidence in favor of a criminal investigation. Police found materials there that could have been used to tie the victim’s hands.
Investigators quickly directed the investigation to the victim’s companion. The man, aged in his thirties, was arrested later that day in the Bellangeries area and later placed in police custody for attempted murder.
