England innings highlights

Having won the toss in the match, England captain Harry Brooke won the toss and elected to bat first. For England, only batsmen Joe Root (76 not out) and Liam Dawson (68) were able to perform, with none of the other batsmen able to show the ability to survive. Akshar Patel took a maximum of 4 wickets for Team India. England were bowled out for 258 in 47.5 overs.

In this match, England started strongly but their first wicket fell in the 13th over in the form of Jacob Bethel (14). He was caught by Washington Sundar on a ball from Gurnoor Brar. In the same over at Gurnur, Ben Duckett (43) was caught off third man by Jasprit Bumrah at the boundary line.

After this over with Gurnoor, captain Gill made an attacking move and got Jasprit Bumrah to bowl. He caught Harry Brook (1), who was caught by Rohit Sharma on the very first ball of the 14th over. This was his 150th ODI wicket.

Prasidh Krishna gave India a big hit in 16.1 overs. He sent Jos Buttler into the pavilion for 5 runs. Gurnur Brar took a brilliant catch. Buttler was out after scoring 5 runs off 14 balls without any fours or sixes.

In 16.4 overs, Prasidh Krishna sent Sam Curran (0) to the pavilion without opening the scoring. K.L. Rahul struck another blow for England with a brilliant catch behind the wicket. Sam Curran faced three balls and was out without scoring a try.

After this, Shivam Dubey gave India a big hit in 21.4 overs, but all the credit for this wicket goes to the brilliant performance of wicketkeeper KL. Rahula. Will Jacques tried to hit Dubey’s ball, but the ball went through the edge of the bat and went beyond the wicket. Rahul jumped into the air to his right and took such a great catch with one hand that everyone was surprised. This was also Dubey’s first wicket in ODI cricket after August 2024. Jacques returned to the pavilion scoring 20 runs off 19 balls with the help of 3 fours.

After the sixth wicket fell on 107, Liam Dawson and Joe Root put on a 121-run partnership as England’s score reached 228, their seventh wicket falling to Dawson (68), caught by Rohit Sharma off an Akshar Patel ball. After this, Akshar Patel got Joffra Archer, who scored 12 runs off 6 balls caught by Washington Sundar. The last two wickets, Adil Rashid (1) and Josh Tong (0), were also dismissed by Akshar Patel. Apart from Akshara’s four wickets, Prasidh Krishna and Gurnur Brar took 2-2 wickets while Jasprit Bumrah and Shivam Dubey took 1-1 wickets.
