A 65-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with a witchcraft case in court. The incident took place in Chikkaballapur, Karnataka. The complaint is that in the courtroom the judge’s chair was sprinkled with white seeds and black magic was practiced. The incident became known after CCTV footage was released.

The accused is a woman named Manjula. They sprinkled white seeds on the seat of the first Additional Senior Civil Judge at the Judicial Magistrates First Class Complex in Chikkaballapur. CCTV footage has emerged of Manjula scattering seeds on the judge’s chair as she entered the court two days ago. Based on these recordings, an investigation was launched.

The case against Manjula was filed based on a complaint filed by the court’s chief administrative officer Netra. The case has been filed under the Karnataka Prevention and Eradication of Inhumane Evil Practices and Black Magic Act, 2017.

The accused was arrested and sent to custody for 14 days. Further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
