Geely EX2 The electric hatchback will cost from $26,490 excluding on-road costs when it goes on sale in Australia later this month, with a two-model range with a range of up to 345km.
The five-door, five-seat EX2 has become China’s best-selling electric car in 2025 with almost 466,000 units sold and will launch in Australia at a lower price than its main showroom rivals.
This includes the similarly sized BYD Dolphin electric hatchback, priced from $29,990 before on-road costs, as well as the MG 4 EV Urban and GAC Aion UT, both priced from $31,990 before on-road costs.
Geely, which owns the Volvo, Zeekr, Lotus and Polestar brands and also owns 50:50 Smart in partnership with Mercedes-Benz, launched its eponymous brand in Australia in March 2025.

One of six new Geely-branded models planned for release in Australia by 2028, the EX2 will join the Starray EM-i and EX5 mid-size SUVs already on sale here, with all three sharing the same Global Intelligent Electric Architecture (GEA) underpinnings.
The EX2 is 4135mm long, 1805mm wide and 1580mm high, has a 2645mm wheelbase, a 70L front boot (“rear”), a 375L boot and a 9.9m turning radius.
The entry-level EX2 Complete, priced at $26,490 before on-road costs, comes with a 60kW/150Nm electric motor driving the rear wheels (a key differentiator from rivals), with a 35.3kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery for a claimed WLTP range of 252km per charge.
Customers who order and receive the EX2 between July 12 and August 31 will also receive a 7kW home EV charger and will not pay an additional $600 for the premium paint option.

Standard equipment includes 16-inch steel wheels with hubcaps and Yokohama tires, LED headlights, a 14.6-inch touchscreen with integrated satellite navigation, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, power-adjustable front seats and a four-speaker audio system.
Connected services will be available from August, allowing you to use the Geely smartphone app to remotely control locks, climate settings and scheduled charging, among other functions.
Among the wide array of standard safety equipment are four selectable driving modes, as well as seven airbags.
These include advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) such as adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and traffic sign recognition.
The EX2 also features a multi-link rear suspension, while the entry-level Dolphin and MG 4 EV Urban use a torsion beam rear suspension. The latter saves space, while the former usually provides better ride comfort and handling.
The higher-spec EX2 Inspire will cost $30,990 before on-road costs and will feature a more powerful 85kW/150Nm electric motor and a larger 47.1kWh LFP battery for a claimed WLTP range of 345km.
It also offers faster 80kW DC charging compared to the entry-level model’s 60kW.
The Inspire also comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, metallic exterior accents and a contrasting black roof.

The cabin also features heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a six-speaker audio system, a wireless phone charger and a 360-degree camera with a clear view of the chassis.
Moon White is the EX2’s only standard exterior color, with Star Silver, Comet Grey, Nebula Beige, Aurora Green and Nova Pink available as extra-cost options. All EX2 models come standard with Horizon Gray faux leather upholstery, while the Inspire offers a unique Skyline White interior as a no-cost option.
According to the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI), the EX2 is expected to compete in the sub-$45,000 small car segment, which accounted for just under 5000 sales and 3.5 per cent of the Australian new car market in June.
The Toyota Corolla Hybrid was the best seller in the segment with 1,037 sales, ahead of the MG 4 with 1,015 sales and the Hyundai i30 petrol and hybrid with 744 sales.
With just two models on sale, Geely sold 10,970 vehicles in Australia in the first six months of 2026, led by the EX5 with 6,765 sales.
