In the north, the weather is determined by low temperatures over the Baltic Sea region; in the southern foothills of the Azores. DWD warnings are in effect in many areas.
On Friday, the German Weather Service (DWD) issued an official warning for more than 120 districts and cities. The entire northeastern half is affected, with some areas at Alert Level 2 of 4 (orange). Wind gusts can be expected here until Friday evening. DVD Warns: “Danger from isolated falling branches and flying objects.”
In the orange zone are Bremerhaven, Hamburg, Flensburglike, Lubeck, Rostock, SchwerinBerlin and Frankfurt an der Oder. South of here, Alert Level 1 of 4 (yellow) applies.

Bremen, for example, is in the yellow zone. Hanover, Bielefeld, Magdeburg, Leipzig, Cottbus and Zittau. DWD initially issued warnings through Friday evening, with some valid until 10 p.m.
Up to 33 degrees: temperatures rise in the south
The reason is a low over the Baltic Sea region, which will also occur in the coming days. Vetter will be determined in the north and east. It pushes circumpolar air toward Germany and brings clouds, rain, sometimes strong winds and fairly cold temperatures—DWD is forecasting a high of 19 to 24 degrees for Saturday. Severe thunderstorms will develop from Sunday and experts say thunderstorms will hit the center on Tuesday as well.
The south lies in the zone of influence of the foothills of the Azores ledge. The maximum temperature on Friday in the southwest and south is from 24 to 28 degrees, on Saturday the values locally rise to about 30 degrees, on Sunday it can reach 31 degrees, and on Monday even 33 degrees locally in the Upper Rhine.
This means: the people in the south will again have to deal with one Heat wave We expect it – although not yet as much as the previous one. By generally accepted definition, a heat wave occurs when one place experiences temperatures of at least 30 degrees for at least three days in a row.
