At 22:00. This Monday, July 13, more than 1,300 hectares were damaged by fires in the Fontainebleau massif. This situation is completely unprecedented for the region.
The new fire, which now covers 120 hectares, broke out today at about 15:00. in the Feyzandery sector, a few kilometers from Fontainebleau. Fires in Noisy-sur-Ecole, Asher-la-Forêt and Le Vaudouai covered an area of 1,200 hectares. At this time these lights are still not fixed. Firefighters continue their actions.
No casualties have been reported and property damage is currently very limited.
The protection of communities and homes remains our absolute priority.
Many resources were involved. Over 850 firefighters, 4 Canadair aircraft, 3 bomber helicopters and 2 Dash aircraft. Military resources arrived to reinforce SDIS from midday.
The A6 motorway remains closed.
The Prefect would like to thank the elected officials, municipalities, businesses, farmers, associations and all local partners who are fully mobilized together with public services to support operations.
As for the causes of these fires, an investigation is being conducted under the direction of the prosecutor of Fontainebleau.

Fires in the south of Seine-et-Marne – situation update from 07/13/26 at 1:30 am.
The Seine-et-Marne department has seen several large-scale fires since a red heat alert was issued at noon on Saturday 11 July. Fires in Barbizon, Écrennes, Saint-Fargeau-Ponthierry and Jouarre were brought under control by firefighters from the Department of Fire and Rescue Services (SDIS). Three of these fires were stubble fires, covering 306, 45 and 30 hectares respectively.

Fires in the south of Seine-et-Marne – situation update from 07/12/26 at 20:00.
Although the department has been on a heat alert since noon on Saturday, July 11, several fires have broken out and are still burning. The fire in the Ecrennes sector had a significant impact on traffic on the A5 motorway, which has now reopened to traffic.
Another fire is threatening communities bordering the A6 motorway, hampering or restricting traffic.
The prefecture deployed a departmental operations center (COD), bringing together all government services to ensure a coordinated response. As for damage, no casualties have been reported, but material damage has already been recorded.

Strengthening human and material resources
– More than 370 firefighters and 130 SDIS77 engines are currently working to extinguish various fires that will require many hours of intervention. Reinforcements from firefighters from other departments are supporting the Seine-et-Marne firefighters involved, and the national air force arrived in the early evening. (water bombers, dashes, etc.)
– Farm workers are also supporting relief efforts by providing water tanks.
Rules of caution
– Avoid walking on the road
– Block the ventilation openings and the bottom of the doors in case of smoke penetration.
– Cover your nose and mouth with a damp cloth to protect yourself from smoke.
– Before a fire starts, bring a watering hose: it can be useful after the fire goes out to extinguish the last embers.
