Yash’s Toxic: A Fairytale for Adults has released a promotional video for ‘Ladies & Ladies’, highlighting the film’s impressive female cast and their complex, powerful characters in the dark universe of Geethu Mohandas’ upcoming drama.
The video opens with a provocative age-appropriate disclaimer that reads: “Children…stay away. Parents…make sure your children stay away. Grandparents…make sure your children’s children stay away. Great-grandparents…at your own risk.” Moving away from passive romantic roles, the video takes on a fierce, militant tone, anchored by an ominous female voice-over declaring, “Love makes monsters out of women. It’s a beautiful illusion when you understand the depth of its deception.”
The commercial is a highly atmospheric roll call, placing each star in an elaborate retro-gothic vignette before drawing them into the central narrative. Nayanthara is shown looking into a brightly lit vanity mirror surrounded by red circus-style curtains; Kiara Advani appears in glamorous close-up, flanked by fire-breathing performers; Tara Sutaria embodies the classic femme fatale in a smoky upscale lounge; Rukmini Vasant goes into pure action, pulling out a pistol on an antique staircase; and Huma Qureshi leads a faction of leather-clad goth punks in the dimly lit dining room.
The aesthetic, driven by a moody setting and a pulsating electronic score, takes a sharp turn in the final act towards an unstable bar fight. Yasha’s protagonist, Raya, stands behind the counter, coolly rolling up his sleeves to face the enemy strike team, and asks, “Do you want to come one at a time… or all together?” The choreography is a flurry of fast-paced hand-to-hand combat, breaking glass and acrobatics. The original voiceover returns at the very end to deliver the cynical final line: “But here’s the plot twist, ladies… Don’t forget the predictable sight of men and their dicks,” immediately followed by the sound of a gun being cocked.
Shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, the film will also be distributed in dubbed version in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam territories.
The production is supported by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, and the film is scheduled to release worldwide on August 26th.
