Wimbledon picks: best tennis bets for Sunday, July 5

Felix Auger-Aliassime celebrates a big win at the Miami Open.

Wimbledon 2026 has officially kicked off at the All England Club in London. We’ve broken down the best tennis bets of the day, delving into match tactics, surface trends and current form to find the sharpest edges on the board. Whether you’re betting on the moneyline, game spread, set spread or total, our best Wimbledon 2026 bets will help you make a profit. I’ll post some of my favorite plays from Sunday, July 5th below, but be sure to keep an eye on the selection page. I usually have a few more options to choose from, plus I sometimes add moves depending on how the lines are moving. This is where Gill Alexander places his bets.

Barbora Krejcikova vs Karolina Muchova

Krejcikova has had trouble finishing sets and matches, but at least she puts herself in winning situations. The 2024 Wimbledon champion is far from stable, but she is capable of playing at the level of a top 10 player for a couple of weeks a year. Right now we are seeing exactly this. Krejcikova comes into this match with a 7-2 record on grass this season, one of her victories being an impressive three-set win over Mirra Andreeva.

As long as Krejcikova’s body holds up, she can beat anyone. Among them is Muchova, the Czech star. Muchova is one of my favorite players on tour because her game has the beauty and fluidity of Roger Federer. However, Krejcikova is 2-1 against Muchova and I don’t see anything different between these two when they’re both in good shape. The reality is that Muchova’s game may look a little better, but Krejcikova plays with a sense of clarity that gives her the edge in most matches. Things may be different here.

Don’t get me wrong, Muchova can absolutely win this match. But this is a situation where we are playing a numbers game. It’s closer to 50-50 than those odds suggest. Prediction markets actually put this at 61-39, so there could be even more value here.

Belinda Bencic vs Coco Gauff
Alejandro Davidovich Fokina vs Felix Auger-Aliassime

I was debating whether I should play Bencic or Davidovich Fokin on the moneyline, so I’m just going to pair them up and hope they can win a set each.

As for Bencic, the history of personal meetings with Gauff is a little alarming. Gauff won three straight matches between the two, with her athleticism getting to Bencic in some of them. She asks this 29-year-old question herself, which leads to unforced errors in which she overplays in search of winners. However, this is Bencic’s best coverage to date. Her career record on grass is 51-24, giving her a winning percentage of 68.0%. Bencic’s solid serve and solid baseline play are ideal for such fast conditions and I think Gauff will have a hard time dealing with it. I noted this before Gauff’s match with Claire Liu, but the world number seven’s athleticism plays a slightly lesser role here. This could absolutely win her matches, but she needs to be able to effectively attack top level players. On grass, Bencic qualifies as one of them, so we’ll see what happens. I don’t think Bencic will lose without getting on the board.

In the other match, I expect Davidovich Fokina to continue in the same vein. The Spaniard is currently on a serious roll, having won his first ATP title before arriving at the All England Club. Davidovich Fokina won the grass competition in Mallorca and now seems full of confidence. Despite difficult opponents at the beginning of the round, Davidovich Fokina has not yet lost a single set. He serves very well, his backhand is still one of the best on tour, and he hits his forehand better than usual. The latter point is significant as he prepares for his match against Auger Aliassime. If Davidovich Fokina can stand on this flank, he will have a chance to win this match.

PARLAY: Bencic +1.5 sets and Davidovich Fokina +2.5 Sets (-127 – 1.5 units)

WL 2026 record: 907–1042 (+9.67 units)
