The 2026 Wimbledon men’s and women’s singles champions will each win £3.6 million, up £600,000 on last year.

The tournament’s total prize fund is £64.2 million, a figure spread across all rounds of the competition. This figure also includes money won by qualifying men’s and women’s singles players.

The total prize fund at Wimbledon has increased by more than £10 million compared to last year.

Despite the significant increase in prize money, some leading players protested by limiting media appearances to 15 minutes.

But that protest ended after “constructive meetings” with the All England Club.

Reaching the first round of the men’s or women’s singles competition earns players £80,000. For players progressing to the second round, this figure rises to £126,000.

Going beyond that to reach the last 32 will see players receive £185,000, while those in the last 16 will earn £300,000 each.

Players who reach the quarter-finals will earn £480,000, while winning this round to progress to the semi-finals will earn players £900,000.

Second place in one of the singles competitions can earn £1.8 million.

There are prize funds for other competitions at the Championship, but they are significantly lower than in the two main singles competitions.

Prize pots are not cumulative: players move up the prize table until rounds begin in which they are eliminated.
