Weather today: Tropical Wednesday July 15th with severe thunderstorms.

What causes these storms and which regions will be most vulnerable?

They are associated with a drop in cold in the Atlantic region. It brings increased humidity between Brittany and the Grand Orient to the Alps via the Paris Basin, Center Val de Loire and Auvergne. These storms remain scattered but can be severe at times.

Will the heat continue?

Yes, especially from the southwest to Auvergne, where daytime temperatures range from 35 to 40°C. Should we be wary of stronger storms on Thursday and Friday?

Yes, because the cold blob will spread its influence over most of the country. These thunderstorms even though they may be strong at times, they will remain dispersed and will not bring any improvement in drought management.

Can we expect temperatures to drop?

Yes, from Thursday in the north. On the other hand, in the south the fall will occur on Friday. So we can expect a little respite from the hot weather this weekend. From north to south it will be moderately hot, with an average of 25 to 30°C. A new risk of a heat wave is expected during the week of July 20 in the southwest of the country.
