Eleven suspects face criminal charges following an investigation by Montreal police into the moments leading up to the killing of 15-year-old Nouran Rezaia.
Police announced Tuesday that the suspects were between 13 and 17 years old at the time of the shooting.
Five of them were arrested, six were charged with a summons.
The suspects will appear in Quebec Juvenile Court in late August or early September.
The charges include: conspiracy to kidnap, conspiracy to commit assault, wearing a disguise for criminal purposes, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unlawful assembly and failure to comply with various court orders.
On September 21, 2025, Rezaei, who was unarmed, was shot and killed by Longueuil police just 10 seconds after officers parked their vehicle while responding to a 911 call.
Quebec police watchdog Independent Investigations Office (BEI) was notified of the shooting an hour and 36 minutes after it occurred.
He launched an investigation into the fatal shooting. Parallel Montreal City Police Department (SPVM) began its own investigation.
In March, the BEI announced it had completed its report and submitted it to the DPCP, Quebec’s prosecutor’s office. He will decide whether to press charges against the officer who killed Rezaei.
