Although temperatures continued to rise this week, the heat wave is expected to last until at least July 14, after which temperatures will begin to gradually cool. Here is Météo-France’s forecast for next week.
Will the heat finally subside? After a week marked by continued rise in temperatures, another surge of heat is expected this weekend. Temperatures could reach or exceed 40°C in New Aquitaine and the Vendée on Sunday. According to Météo-France, the heatwave is expected to last until at least Tuesday 14 July, after which temperatures will begin to gradually decline.
On Monday morning the sun will reign over almost the entire country. In Lyon it will already be 31°C and there will be a few clouds of fog from the center to the north. The hot weather will intensify in the afternoon. Highs will reach 39°C in Vichy, 38°C in Orleans, 37°C in Lyon. Brittany will be concerned about the risk of thunderstorms.

High temperatures will continue on Tuesday despite slightly cloudier skies over parts of the country. The sun will still be present in the morning, even if there are more clouds in the center and north. In Vichy it will be 32°C, in Brest – 23°C. However, there may be showers in the east and center this afternoon. Temperatures will remain high: 37°C in Lyon and 35°C in Paris.

Temperatures will begin to drop on Wednesday, but the heat will remain in much of the country. In the morning it will be 30°C in Paris, 31°C in Lyon and Clermont-Ferrand, and 23°C in Brest. In the afternoon, the weather will become more unstable, with rain falling across most of the country. Highs will reach 37°C in Montelimar, 36°C in Toulouse and Chalon-sur-Saône.

Temperatures will continue to gradually decrease on Thursday. Sunshine will still dominate most of the country in the morning, with temperatures reaching 31°C in Montélimar, 30°C in Gap and 23°C in Brest. This afternoon there will be showers in many parts of the country.

On Friday, lower temperatures will be confirmed throughout the country. In the morning it will be 20°C in Cherbourg-Octeville, 24°C in Paris and 28°C in Marseille. The second half of the day will be marked by more unstable weather across most of the country with widespread showers.
The weekend also promises to be mixed. Clear periods will alternate with periods of rain, which may affect several regions, especially the East and North. Temperatures should remain seasonal despite the gradual decline in heat waves.
