Indian cricket’s young sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi had a memorable first visit to Wimbledon on Sunday, attending the men’s singles final alongside Yuvraj Singh, Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson as the 15-year-old immersed himself in the Center Court atmosphere.
Fresh from a breakthrough year in cricket, Vaibhav was among several Indian cricketers at the All England Club, where he spoke about visiting one of the sport’s most iconic venues for the first time.
“I’m here to watch the final match and see what it’s like, watching live and watching the players perform in the final. It should be a great experience,” Vaibhav said on JioStar.

Djokovic, his idol
The youngster said he has been following tennis for the last four to five years and named Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal as the players he admired most as a child.
“I used to watch Nadal and Djokovic a lot. I like Djokovic a lot, but these are the two players I followed the most,” he said.
Sinner vs Zverev, Wimbledon men’s singles final: news
Asked which player in the new generation of tennis players impressed him the most, Vaibhav backed world number one Jannik Sinner to emerge victorious in the Wimbledon final.
“I really liked Sinner, the way he dominated throughout the tournament. I hope he wins today,” he said.
The teenager also shared his poignant perspective on the event, noting that fellow cricketer Abhishek Sharma played a role in helping him prepare.

“I didn’t really plan anything specific. I just quickly put on what I could find. Abhishek helped organize it and now here I am,” he said.
CRICKET AT SW19
Vaibhav’s visit continued Indian cricket’s strong presence at this year’s championship. Earlier this week, batting legend Sachin Tendulkar and Indian ODI and Test captain Shubman Gill attended the men’s singles semi-final at the famous Royal Box, Tendulkar made another appearance at one of his favorite sporting events and Gill enjoyed his first Wimbledon experience.
On Sunday, the focus shifted to the next generation as Vaibhav attended the final along with former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, India’s current T20I teammates Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson. The Indian T20I side has just completed a five-match series against England in which they lost 0–4..

The interview also brought about a light-hearted moment when Vaibhav was asked to choose a cricketer as his tennis partner in doubles.
“I have already mentioned Abhishek Bhaiya. Since he is my first partner, I would choose him here too,” he said.
Still only 15 years old, Vaibhav has emerged as one of Indian cricket’s brightest young prospects, and his appearance at Wimbledon reflected the growing intersection of cricket and tennis, with several leading cricketers making the All England Club a regular stop during the grass-court season.
For the teenager, however, the visit was more than just a celebrity appearance. It was an opportunity to witness elite athletes compete on one of sport’s greatest stages, while drawing inspiration from champions beyond the cricket field.
