About UPTET 2026 – Paper 1 and Paper 2
UPTET 2026 is conducted under advertisement number 01/UPTET/2026 by the Uttar Pradesh Educational Services Selection Commission (UPESSC). There are two tasks in the exam:
Paper 1 is for candidates wishing to teach in grades 1 to 5 (entry level). Paper 2 is for candidates wishing to teach in grades 6–8 (upper primary level). Candidates wishing to be eligible to teach at both levels must apply for both Paper 1 and Paper 2.

However, it is a mandatory teacher selection criterion for all teacher recruitment processes in government and government-aided primary and high schools across the state. Candidates who clear UPTET get a qualification certificate that is valid for life from the date of issue, i.e. there is no need to appear again after receiving the certificate.
