As the heat wave persists across the country, the weather could be tense. Météo-France has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms in 22 departments for Tuesday, July 14.
After the heat… Storms. This Tuesday, July 14, a national holiday, 22 departments in the large northeastern quarter of the country were under the threat of a yellow storm. Caution is advised in all of these areas.

Affected: Allier, Ardennes, Aube, Côte-d’Or, Creuse, Doubs, Jura, Loire, Marne, Haute-Marne, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Moselle, Meuse, Nièvre, Puy-de-Dôme, Bas-Rhin, Haut-Rhin, Haute-Saône, Saone-et-Loire, Vosges, Yonne and Belfort Territory.
Although storms may develop, the weather will mostly be characterized by prolonged heat. As of Tuesday, Météo France placed 58 departments on an orange alert and 26 on a red heat alert.
