A fire broke out in the town of Rochefort-du-Gard. A lorry caught fire on the A9 motorway at around 3pm. hour 15. The fire then spread to the surrounding vegetation towards the village.
Around 17 h, about 60 hectares caught fire. Eight aircraft and 40 vehicles are currently trying to bring the fire under control. Reinforcements are expected from neighboring departments.
The municipality of Rochefort-du-Gard has launched a municipal protection plan. The prefecture is also activating its Departmental Operations Center (COD).

The A9 motorway closed between Remoulins and Roquemore
Garda firefighters are asking local residents not to attend the scene and to facilitate access to all emergency services. The fire has cut off the A9 motorway between Remoulins and Roquemore in the direction of Lyon.
