Pallet fire spreads to Halle

Michel Langlotz, spokesman for the Goslar fire service, confirmed this in an interview with RegionalHeute.de. He explained: “Initially it was a pallet fire. These were plastic pallets that held a lot of plastic pellets. They quickly caught fire. The fire spread to the hall.”

In any case, fire protection is large-scale. It’s about 12.30 now. – More than a hundred firefighters are on duty, including the volunteer fire departments of Goslar and Bad Harzburg and the professional fire department of Salzgitter. Four cars arrived with a rotating staircase. Firefighters are busy preventing the fire from spreading and cooling the surrounding buildings.

Putting out the fire “will take several more hours,” says fire department spokesman Langlotz. The wind is making things worse today.
No injuries have been reported yet. Employees of the affected company promptly left the hall and premises, Langlotz said. “We are also evacuating all businesses in the area where smoke is moving due to the wind.”

Keep windows and doors closed

Goslar police are advising residents to keep windows and doors closed due to the fire and associated smoke. The Federal Office of Civil Protection’s warning message, which was played on all warning apps, had a warning level of “extreme danger.” It also says: “Avoid the affected area!”

According to the traffic control center, Langer Kamp street is currently closed due to firefighting work. There is also a warning about “high flames and heavy smoke.”
