The Court of Arbitration for Sport has suspended French tennis player Samuel Bensoussan for three years for match-fixing.

Samuel Bensoussan hasn’t played on an ATP tournament since 2019 and we’re unlikely to see him again until 2030. The 34-year-old French tennis player was effectively banned for three years on appeal by the Court of Arbitration for Sport for match-fixing. In May 2025, he was suspended for one year and eleven months and fined $12,000. However, CAS responded so harshly to the appeal that it has now been suspended until 2030. The fine remains set at $12,000. The Van Va native was found guilty of match-fixing between August 2017 and June 2018. “This sanction was related to a criminal case examined in 2023 regarding a match-fixing network in Belgium. The cooperation of the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) and the Belgian authorities made it possible to sentence the head of the network, Grigor Sargsyan, to five years in prison,” ITIA clarifies. In particular, he is prohibited from competing, coaching or participating in any events organized by World Tennis, ATP, WTA or Grand Slam tournaments.

Bensoussan defeated Sinner and Ruud

Samuel Bensoussan peaked at world No. 405 in June 2018 and has earned $60,000 in a career that began in 2012.. He primarily played on the Challenger and Future, D2 and D3 circuits of tennis. And we even find traces of a victory over a certain Jannik Sinner, then 17 years old and ranked 882nd in the world, during an Italian tournament in 2018, and another, after his retirement, over Kasper Ruud, then 18 years old and ranked over 1000th, at a Spanish tournament.

A player who had the opportunity to train with Novak Djokovic, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Arthur Cazeau and Moise Kouame, judging by the photos published on his account. Instagramhe then became a coach at the Asics Tennis Academy and, in particular, accompanied Lois Boisson to several tournaments.
