The body of 10-year-old Maximo Au Ramirez was found in Nutimik Lake, Manitoba RCMP said.

In a release Wednesday evening, Lac du Bonnet RCMP said it responded to a report of a body near the shore of Nutimik Lake at 7:30 p.m.

They later confirmed the body was that of a 10-year-old boy who, along with his 13-year-old brother Aaron, reportedly slipped on rocks near Sturgeon Falls and fell into the fast current on Saturday.

RCMP say the search for Aaron continues and family has been notified.

Allison Baker-Thiessen, who owns Nutimik Cottage with her husband Harry Thiessen, said the body was discovered about 400 yards east of the falls and found by a couple of local cottage owners and the brother of the boys’ mother.

“We are very glad that we were able to find Maximo,” she said, adding that they are now “working hard” to find Aaron.

“The pain is still very bad and we are not done yet, we will still continue to fight and find his brother to bring him home.”
