The Western Bulldogs have offered a significant long-term contract for unrestricted free agent Jordon Butts, reports 7News Melbourne Tom Morris.
Despite signing a four-year contract with the Crows, Butts remains undecided about his future, leading to inquiries from rival clubs.

Speaking to Channel 7 on Wednesday night, Morris said the Bulldogs’ offer to Butts was more tempting than Adelaide’s.

“The deal they are offering Jordon Butts is for five years at $700,000 to $750,000, which is more than what the Ravens offered.”

Morris added that the Ravens have a catch.
“The caveat is that if he decides to go to the Western Bulldogs and Zac Bailey moves from Brisbane to Adelaide, the Crows will receive little or no compensation for Jordon Butts,” he said.
Butts, who was picked up from the Western Jets, has made 94 appearances for Adelaide since being selected as a rookie at the end of 2018.

Veteran goalie Jake Stringer is assessing whether he wants to join a fourth club amid doubts over his Giants future, reports AFL Media’s Cal Toomey.
An All-Australian Premiership Bulldog, Stringer scored 428 goals in 245 games for the Western Bulldogs, Essendon and Giants.
But the 32-year-old remains without a contract after this season. Numerically, Stringer is having his best year since 2021, averaging 36.34 goals against, 12.1 disposals and 3.9 points in 18 games.

“There’s no deal being discussed with the Giants yet. I’m not sure if he’ll get it or not – he’s had a pretty good year,” Toomey said.
“I think where the Giants are right now, it’s probably the right time too – if I look at their roster – do they need to take a couple of steps back to move forward?
“He’s interested in choosing a fourth club. He’s actually interested in staying in Sydney and going to the Swans. I’m not sure that will lead to anything, it’s unlikely.”
Asked if Stringer would be on the Giants’ roster next year, Toomey said, “I think it’s unlikely at this point.”

Speaking to Channel 7 on Wednesday night, Cleary said Madden’s development sees him usurping Kieren Briggs as the Giants’ first-choice starter – a situation that has caught the Tigers’ attention.
“The Tigers were looking at Bailey Williams, who re-signed with the West Coast Eagles, and Nick Madden, who just re-signed with the Giants,” Cleary said.
“The feeling is that Madden is ready to overtake Kieren Briggs as the Giants’ No. 1 bat.
The Tigers put him (Briggs) on the board to partner Toby Nankervis next year at Punt Road.
Briggs was selected after the Giants matched the academy bid with pick 34 in the 2018 draft. After spending several seasons establishing himself at the club, Briggs has become a mainstay of the Giants’ top team since 2023, playing 84 games.
